General

  • We’re based in a thoughtfully restored 50-year-old home in Jayanagar, Bangalore, now functioning as a fully equipped teaching studio. 

  • Our core focus is on wheel-thrown ceramics, with structured progression through beginner to advanced levels. We also teach handbuilding, surface decoration, glazing, and kiln basics, offering a comprehensive learning experience.

  • Trayah is purely a teaching studio. For retail ceramics, our sister brand Touch Feel Shape Form curates and sells handcrafted ceramic pieces both online and offline.

  • Yes! We offer introductory workshops designed for first-time potters or those exploring pottery as a creative break. Perfect for weekends or special occasions.

Courses

  • Our Workshops and Beginner’s Courses are ideal starting points. No prior experience is needed—we’ll guide you from the very basics.

  • If you’ve never worked on the wheel, we recommend beginning with a Level 1course. If you’ve already completed a beginner program elsewhere and are confident in basic forms like cylinders and bowls, you may be ready for our Intermediate or Advanced levels. Reach out—we’re happy to help assess

  • Yes. All tools, clay, glazes, and both bisque and glaze firings are included in your course fee.

  • Yes. All glazed and fired pieces you complete during your course are yours to take home. Each course includes a set number of pieces, as detailed in the course description.

  • We offer limited makeup sessions subject to instructor and studio availability. Please inform us at least 24 hours in advance if you can’t make it. Missed sessions without prior notice are counted as used.

  • Yes, we offer tailored sessions for individuals, small groups, team offsites, and events. Email us with your request and we’ll guide you from there.

  • Yes. Each course is structured to build technical skills through guided instruction, practice, and personal projects. While the curriculum is consistent, instructors adapt their approach to suit each student’s pace.

  • We do not offer formal certification. However, we are happy to issue a completion note on request for long-format courses, outlining the skills covered.

Studio Access

  • Yes. Students enrolled in intensive or long-format courses receive access to weekday studio practice time, typically 2 PM – 5 PM, Wednesday to Friday. These are unguided practice sessions

  • Studio access is only available to enrolled students or approved studio members. We currently do not offer drop-in access for independent practice unless you're part of a membership program.

  • Yes. Experienced potters can apply for our studio membership, which includes independent access to wheels, tools, and firing services. Details can be found in the membership section on our website.

Booking & Apartments

  • Courses can be booked directly through our website or by reaching out via phone or email. Full payment is required to confirm your seat.

  • Currently, we do not offer payment instalments. Course fees are to be paid in full at the time of booking.

  • We do not offer refunds except in cases of government-mandated closures or emergencies (with appropriate documentation). Please check your availability before registering.

  • Transfers are considered on a case-by-case basis and are subject to seat availability and instructor approval. Please write to us at least a week before the batch begins

Safety & Facilities

  • Yes. We maintain a clean, safe, and inclusive space, and all instruction is tailored to suit varied learning styles and comfort levels. Our team is attentive and supportive throughout your course.

  • Wear clothes you’re comfortable getting clay on. Aprons are provided at the studio. We recommend tying back long hair and keeping nails short for wheel throwing.

  • Yes, we have restrooms and a calm sitting area that can be used by students or accompanying guests.

  • There is limited parking in the surrounding area. We recommend using public transport or arriving early if you plan to drive.

Custom Projects & Collaborations

  • Custom commissions are managed by our sister brand Touch Feel Shape Form, which specialises in design-led ceramic production. You can visit their website or email us to be redirected.

  • We’re open to collaborations and guest-led workshops. Please email us your portfolio and proposal—we’d love to explore the possibilities

Miscellaneous

  • ● Wheel throwing: Ages 12 and above
    ● Workshops (handbuilding-focused): Ages 6 and above
    We maintain age-appropriate formats and guidance across all sessions.

  • Yes. You can gift someone a course or workshop through a custom digital or printed gift card. Email us to arrange one

  • Follow us on Instagram and sign up for our newsletter for early access to newbatches, events, and exhibitions.

  • While we don’t provide accommodation directly, we can recommend safe and accessible options near the studio. Feel free to contact us for suggestions
